Another sick day, another round of movies…
Scorpion King: The Rock says…better stick to wrestling. Actually, the fight scenes were pretty neat, and the story line was somewhat decent. Oh, and Kelly Hu…grrrowwwl. It’s nice to see something other than martial arts and gunfighting once in a while. Did I mention Kelly Hu?
The Legend of Drunken Master, or for the real hardcore fans, Jui Ken II (Drunken Fist II): This is definetely one of Jackie Chan’s best. I seem to prefer his older movies rather than the new ones he’s been coming out with which seems to focus a LOT more on comedy than action. This is one of the many films which portrays Wong Fei-hung, but I prefer Jet Li’s portrayal in the Once Upon a Time in China series.
By the way, I’m planning on waiting in line next week for Ying xiong (The Hero). Even though it’s coming out next year. Actually, they don’t even have an estimated date yet. Remind me to bring lots of clean underwear. On second thoughts, maybe I’ll just stay home and watch a couple more movies that have piled up on the coffee table: 15 Minutes, Monster’s Ball, A Beautiful Mind, Ghost World, and a Walk to Remember.
