legend of the red dragon…

I saw Jet Li’s The Legend of the Red Dragon / New Legend of Shaolin [Hong Xiguan zhi Shaolin wu zu ] the other day, and I must say it was one of the most humorous yet action packed movie I’ve ever seen. I don’t think I ever laughed so much during any action movie (I mean, any action movie which intended to be funny.) Miu Tse was excellent as Jet Li’s son in the movie, which is probably why he also plays his son in My Father The Hero. Seeing five little Shaolin monks team up on a villain is nothing short of amazing.
And speaking of villains, this movie probably had one of the best villains in any martial art film. Just imagine Freddy Krueger after spending several years in a Shaolin temple. And driving a metallic bullet-shaped car with razor sharp blades protruding from every inch of it. Told you it was funny.
