Scrabble babble…

I love Scrabble. Once of the few things I pride myself on in life is my ability to play a mean game of Scrabble. I’m really pretty good.
Well, I thought was good.
I finally managed to watch Word Wars on DVD. Word Wars: Tiles and Tribulation is a documentary following four Scrabble players on their way to the National Scrabble Championships. Four of the best players out there in the Division 1 category, who also happens to be one of the four weirdest people in the world.
You’ll need to see the film to see the level of intensity these guys put into winning Scrabble, while pretty much neglecting every other aspects of life - including such things as meaningful relationships and jobs.
It’s pretty much a different level of Scrabble playing than what I’m use to. These guys memorize word lists, without caring so much as to the definition of the word, just as long as they know how to spell it and place it. I score an average of 250-300 points a game, these guys are breaking the 400 point marks easily.
