So there I was, processing a set of books graciously donated to us by a patron, adding barcodes and meticulously placing spine labels on the entire 30 volume set of Time-Life books. As I gently placed a spine label sticker on the very last volume, marking the end of two hours of painstakingly hard work, the table tipped over - throwing all the books, as well as my co-worker’s drink, on the floor.
I sat there in awe, holding the very last volume in my hands, when I caught a glimpse of the title: Phantom Encounters.
(I’m fairly sure it had nothing to do with the 30+ pounds of books leaning precariously on the edge of the table.)
