what a title…

Last week I was at Office Depot with my wife and daughter buying school supplies, when I decided to look for a DVD album to tame our growing collection of movies. This 48-DVD Case Logic album caught my eye:
“Ooh, neat,” I thought while glancing at the product’s casewrap. “It shows the cover of one of my favorite movies, Hero. Hey, wait a second…”
“That’s not Hero. It’s some movie called “Bonzai,” and it just happens to star what appears to be Jet Li and Ziyi Zhang, posing exactly like they do on the cover of Hero.”
Alright, I know it’s just a fake cover they used for display purposes only (and not to infringe on anyone’s copyright). But, c’mon, using a movie about warring Chinese dynasties and slapping a Japanese term above it is just plain ignorant in my book.

one of my kids recently did something like that… we had kuniko yamamato come to our branch… she is a japanese storyteller… and she was dressed in kimono with obi and this kid was like can i go talk to her… i said sure and he was like, i’m going to say “knee-how” to her. i told the kid, i’m sure she has heard it before. already i knew his mistake, but it was HIS mistake…. so he goes over there thinking he is all smart and shyt only to come back a little later a little perplexed where i then whispered in his ear that she is japanese not chinese. he took it pretty good and i think, i hope, he got the point.
